Project Title:	Project Lead the Way at Pella Community Schools

Project Summary:	Pella Community Schools has been approved by the Iowa Board of Education to provide Project Lead the Way (PLTW) program courses to meet the needs of students in grades 9-12 who are interested in pursuing engineering. PLTW is as four-year sequence of courses designed to prepare students with problem solving, technology, and pre-engineering skills. These skills will generate interest in, and prepare students for, careers in science, technology, engineering and math. The intended outcome of this program is to increase the number of students who see these career paths as attainable and desireable. This will result in an increased number of students who pursue these careers and later fill the job openings that are expected in Iowa and across the nation.
