Northwest ConFABS - October 21, 2009

IMSEP partnered with Northwest AEA in Sioux City for the sixth Conversation to Forge Alliances of Business and Schools (ConFABS) on the evening of October 21, 2009.

Educational innovators gathered to exchange ideas on partnering across the public-private spectrum throughout the Northwest region. Ideas and examples of successful partnerships were offered by Doyle Massey, teacher and technology consultant for the Sioux City schools, on partnering with business for student internships and other possibilities. Additionally, robotics, space camp, and other examples of partnering endeavors were served up by NW-AEA's science consultant Brian Nelsen and by teachers in attendance, including Doug Martin of Le Mars high school.

IMSEP has created a database of contacts and programs, and a grant program to provide seed funds to fledgling partners.

Special thanks to Brian Nelsen and Northwest AEA for co-hosting the event, and to Doyle Massey for featured partnership activities.
