Mississippi Bend ConFABS - May 21, 2009
IMSEP partnered with Mississippi Bend AEA in Bettendorf for the fifth Conversation to Forge Alliances of Business and Schools (ConFABS) on the evening of May 21, 2009.
Educational innovators gathered to exchange ideas on partnering across the public-private spectrum throughout the Mississippi Bend region. Ideas and examples of successful partnerships were offered by Marta Brooks, Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher, Pleasant Valley High School on partnering with business for career education, and by Patrick Barnes, QCESC President and IT Team Leader at John Deere, on the many ways QCESC partners with schools throughout eastern Iowa and western Illinois.
IMSEP has created a database of contacts and programs, and a grant program to provide seed funds to fledgling partners.
