Grant Wood ConFABS - May 5, 2009
IMSEP partnered with Grant Wood AEA in Cedar Rapids for the fourth Conversation to Forge Alliances of Business and Schools (ConFABS) on the evening of May 5, 2009.
Educational innovators gathered to exchange ideas on partnering across the public-private spectrum throughout the Grant Wood region. Ideas and examples of successful partnerships were offered by Susan Dubishar, Teacher in Residence at the Van Allen Science Teaching Center and North Cedar High School's Mathematics Teacher Vicki Hamdorf. An ensuing discussion covered potential projects, steps toward partnering, other successes, and some pitfalls to avoid.
IMSEP has created a database of contacts and programs, and a grant program to provide seed funds to fledgling partners.
